Before jumping in, schedule a free consultation with our lead tutor. This is your chance to explain what you are looking for in a tutoring service.  A face-to-face meeting gives you the opportunity provide background information, areas of focus, and get a feel for how we like to provide support at T3. We want to make sure you know what you are signing up for before you make a commitment. Once tutoring services are scheduled, the first meeting will be used to build rapport and spend some time getting to know and understand each new student. This is the essence behind our mentorship mentality. Understanding the motivations and personality traits of each student is the key to helping them unlock the potential that is already inside. This is also an opportunity to perform a soft “diagnostic”, to get an idea of what core understandings and concepts from each subject area will need to be addressed. This is not a test, but just a relaxed, low stakes exploration into each subject area, pinpointing what will be a focus for the student and teacher. 

After the first meeting, your tutor will explain how they will address specific needs, while at the same time developing the soft skills that are not always taught in the school setting. These are the skills and practices that build up a student's confidence and their understanding of the education system. The purpose of this is to mold a strong, positive self-identity as a student. These skills will stay with them through life and are applicable in upper educational settings and all the real-world situations that require problem solving skills. We aim to foster self-sufficient learners who have the tools to navigate the challenges life throws at them!
